At the last local elections, the Christian Peoples Alliance took all three seats in Canning Town South ward and became one of the official Opposition groups on Newham Council. It was public recognition that CPA campaigning all year round - and not just at election time - is what local people want and deserve. With your help Cllr Simeon Ademolake, Cllr Alan Craig and Cllr Denise Stafford are challenging town hall complacency, Labour laziness and secular intolerance of all kinds.

Wot No Buses? Canning Town Urgent Petition Against Bus Diversions. Residents on the Keir Hardie estate in Canning Town are furious. Road works at Munday Road have resulted in the diversion of the 147 and 241 buses around the outskirts of the neighbourhood, leaving elderly and disabled people without public transport off and onto the estate.

Vibrant Pakistan Independence celebrations in Newham's Green Street but Islamabad Government must act now to Protect Pakistani Christians. Following the brutal murder of Pakistani Christians by a howling mob in Gojra, Punjab two weeks ago, the Leader of the Opposition on Newham Council Cllr Alan Craig wrote today to the Pakistan High Commissioner in London drawing attention to the stark contrast between the bloody atrocity against the minority Christian community in Pakistan on 1st August and the vibrant Independence Day celebrations for the minority Pakistani community on Green Street, Newham, in the heart of London's East End last night.

Fears of Privatised Health Clinics is top By-election Issue as Christian Peoples Alliance Announce Royal Docks Candidate Private companies look set to play a vastly increased role in the provision of health care in Newham, latest figures suggest. Government policy will see a NHS polyclinic built in every district of the borough. Newly adopted Royal Docks by-election candidate for the Christian Peoples Alliance, Anne-Marie Philip, is making Labour's health plans the top issue in her campaign. She is warning that existing GP-services in the ward risk closure to pave the way for private companies, motivated by the profit principle, with the doctor-patient relationship undermined by the new centre proposed for Silvertown.
